Peace and Smile for the Weekend

I'm having coffee with full of cream (I regret) earlier. I visited The Red House (A Western-style red brick structure in Taipei's Ximinting built in 1908) after my Mandarin class. Yes, I just had breakfast at 12 noon :)

I'm feeling, well excited! It's long weekend for us. February 28, Monday is holiday commemorating the heroes of 228 Peace history of Taiwan.

On my mind are places to visit, my plans are to go to Yang Ming Mountain for Spring Flower Festival, watch film~The Black Swan, and foot massage. We deserve to be pampered once in a while :)

Happy Chinese New Year

I'm not having anything in here, I'm just amazed how beautiful this is! It's Chinese New Year today and I just came home from get together lunch with friends from the church.

I'm feeling... feel like gaining weight for having too much sleep and munching every now and then. I'm in the middle of my lunar year vacation and haven't done any exercise :(

On my mind are some strategies on how to become fluent in Mandarin. Reading, listening, and writing aren't good enough, I have to find someone to talk with (exchange student).

Enjoy Your Time

"The future depends on what we do in the present."
- Mahatma Gandhi

I'm  having hot chocolate in this paper cup, this time with its Chinese New Year printed. I think, they choose flowers as the motif since International Flower Expo is in Taipei. I also adapted the title "Enjoy Your Time".

I'm feeling excited!  I will definitely enjoy my time on our Chinese New year break for 12 days. Although, I will be just staying in town. By not waking up and worrying school works will definitely a good break.

On my mind, well, nothing much. I stop worrying things and just be happy one day at a time. I'm thinking of more cooking and capturing next week.

To all celebrating the Lunar Year, Happy Year of the Rabbit!

Moving Forward to One Hundred Years

I'm having hot chocolate in this paper cup, the very famous commercial about this guy. I'll tell a bit of the story:
There's a young lady just moved in and this guy is passing by. The lady asked him to help carry her things. The guy removed his cap, and the lady was surprised (she knows that this guy is a famous actor). When they're having coffee break, the guy asked her, "Do you know me?". The lady replied, "I don't know you." The guy was so happy, for the first time no one knows him and he could express himself freely. (I don't know if I translated it correctly, it's in Mandarin :)

I'm feeling good! At least now, I don't have much stress in studying and teaching (not yet) + a little bit of capturing and cooking if ever I have the chance.

On my mind, I started making collage about everyday life in Taipei. By the way, Taiwan is now 100 years and it would be nice to see and witness some of the activities this upcoming Chinese New Year. Hoping to visit hundred places in Taipei this year :)

Afternoon Green Tea

January 2011 039.1

I'm having hot jasmine tea and with my freshly baked brownies in one afternoon. I'm back in drinking tea.

I'm feeling happy! After two years of thinking if I'll buy DSLR... finally, I found a good deal and bought it.
On my mind, I have to find time to operate it and take the best photos :)

Cheers to a New Year

I'm having hot chocolate in this favorite cup of mine with prunes and mixed nuts cupcake. Photo was taken last month, and I thought of posting it since yesterday was our first day of Chinese Class. I'm in  second intermediate level...hoping the lessons will not be boring as last semester :)

I'm feeling great, after spending Christmas with family and close relatives. I could say I'm energized after seeing them, how  time flies...And also, how God replied to my prayers... Yes, I can still stay in Taipei for another year or two :)

On my mind ...well, the plans for the upcoming New Year! My first priority is my health, I'm not getting any younger... going back to exercise and proper meal will be a good start :)

The Road Not Taken

I'm having hot chocolate in our class, as usual in a paper cup, plus mixed-grain bread for breakfast.

I'm feeling excited, after 8 years of not spending Christmas in the Philippines, can't wait to go home!

On my mind, well, final exams for next week! Can't believe we're almost over!

Here, I'm sharing "The Road Not Taken", I captured it in our school's elevator/lift door :)

Happy Weekend to all!

Coffee Break Time

I'm having coffee with cream minus sugar after eating sandwich in the plane with this green cute cup. I don't know, if it's only when drinking coffee I've noticed lately I'm having stomach acidity. Oh well, as I've said I need to control now!

I'm (not) feeling well, my allergy is attacking me since Monday. I have to take alavert everyday, just to keep me going. It's an occasional allergy from dust mite. I know I'll be fine in few days.

On my mind is looking forward this weekend, my friend and I will watch Harry Potter (I need to watch to keep me updated with students :), afterwards we'll go for Traditional Chinese Foot Massage.

I'm sharing this verses made by one of my students :)

Almost weekend, have one!

About Apple Pie and Coffee (Mocha)

I'm having mocha minus sugar in my favorite cup/mug with Apple More Crumble Pie. Remember the apples that I've mentioned, here's the outcome. It has more crumbs than apple, since two of my four apples got rotten:(

I'm sharing with you a joke story: This can be true, specially in a place like Lost in Translation :)

Apple Pie and Coffee
A man had trouble with his English, so his friend taught him how to say, “Apple pie and coffee,” so when on the job, he could order some food at the local restaurant during his lunch hour. This was fine with our man, and he was grateful to his friend, but after several months he wanted a little more variety in his fare. His friend was glad to oblige and taught him how to say, “Ham and cheese sandwich.”

The man proudly walked into the restaurant the next day and said to the waitress, “Ham and cheese sandwich.” To which the waitress responded, “White, whole wheat, or rye?” With shoulders sagging and the smile gone from his face, he answered back, “Apple pie and coffee.”

I'm feeling good! My presentation today was over! It wasn't hard, the preparation and gathering of ideas took me a week since everything is in Chinese :) I still have written exam on Friday, this time all about grammar usage :(, I remember what my Chinese teacher told me long time ago. Everything in Chinese is upside down of English. Example: Happy birthday = Birthday happy!

On my mind is about Christmas! I'm thinking of going home and spend Christmas with family. The last time I was home for Christmas was in 2002. Christmas is not celebrated in Taiwan, most of the time I'm in the Church on Christmas Season.

Have a nice day!
