Capturing Tai Chi Statue

Tai Chi
(photo taken @ Japan Consul Office)

Tai Chi Chuan is a kind of Chinese Martial Art with slow movement both for self-defense and health benefit, and that's longevity. I met a person, she's 99 year-old and I asked her what's her secret, she told me she's practicing tai chi everyday. My landlord before, teach tai chi every 6am and asked me to join them. I would love to, but being a full-time M.A. student and part-teacher, I didn't try. :(

I've only tried this when I'm still working out in California Fitness, but not much. My yoga instructor only introduced tai chi in the beginning of the session. Every morning, all the parks I've seen here have lots of people doing tai chi.

If you're a beginner, all you have to do is to stay at the back and follow what they do, not to disturb the rest of them. The instructror will come to you after the session, and teach some techniques. Isn't that amazing!

I practiced Tai-chi for a couple of years and then my teacher moved away! Your post reminds me that I need to find a new one!

Always wanted to try tai chi - but they only offer it in the mornings - when I'm at work :(

I'd like to try it sometime. But then again, at my age, I might get all tangled up with myself and land on my head! :-)

I've done Tai Chi for nearly eight years and I love it! By the time you get to my age, you need all the help you can get!! Great post for the day! Hope you have lovely week! Enjoy!

Very nice rough stone statue. I like it very much!

I should try tai-chi. My physical sense of balance is just horrible.

I just LOVE watching people do their Tai Chi in the parks in HK and China. When I can no longer play my tennis, I'll be taking this up. I like that chunky sculpture, too... except it's at odds with the graceful fluid motion of Tai Chi!

It's very popular in the parks in Malaysia. There are lots of groups practising - but I'm sure it's hard work, but very good.
